It's a large restaurant, but it's worth making a reservation. The food is delicious, especially the venison and desserts. The service is excellent. A nice, sweet touch at the end was a scoop of chocolate ice cream with pumpkin seed oil (very Austrian and very delicious). We also received miniature white chimney sweeps at the end, just like the restaurant's name, for good luck.

Impressive dining experience; staff are welcoming and accommodating to allergies. Enjoyed the schnitzel, dumplings, asparagus soup, apple streusel and Kaiserschmarrn. Well seasoned & our favorite restaurant so far! Atmosphere is quiet enough for a conversation, there was live piano music at the time, which was lovely.

This place takes you back 100 years. The interiors felt really old and authentic. You can tell that this place has a lot of history just by the looks of it. The cuisine is Austrian. Like aithentic Austrian food. I had the Beef Goulash and The Salzburg Nockerl which is like a delicacy from the region of Salzburg. It was really good. The service was top notch with extreme hospitality. Staff were warm and suggested good food. They also offered bread basket which had bacon bread and also walnut bread. The Beef Goulash was really good, along with Dumplings on the side. Id recommend this place to everyone who's visiting Vienna. It is in the heard of the Old town, close to the Cathedral.

We had dinner at Zum weißen Rauchfangkehrer, right in the center of Vienna. It’s clearly a very popular spot, especially among tourists. The atmosphere has a classic Austrian charm, and the service was professional and attentive throughout the evening. That said, I do have a few remarks about the food and pricing. We started with the Jerusalem artichoke soup. It was nicely presented, but I found it a bit sour. It’s a dish with great potential, but I think the seasoning could be better balanced. We also ordered the Wiener Schnitzel (veal). While the quality was great, the portion was surprisingly very very small, especially considering the price of around €33. Some parts of the breading were quite airy and empty inside, so when cutting into it, there wasn’t much meat underneath. The dish doesn’t justify its price at all! Another point worth mentioning is the €5.50 cover charge per person. This appears to be for the bread and butter served at the table, but it wasn’t clearly communicated as a separate charge, which was a bit surprising. Overall, while the ambiance and service are strong, I think there’s room for improvement in terms of value for money and transparency on pricing.

Fun traditional Viennese restaurant where the staff is all dressed up and the decor is very antique. Of course it’s quite touristy, on the Saturday night we were there most the visitors were foreign, but I’m sure there’s something for everyone. We reserved a table in the piano room with live piano music playing nearby. Regardless of your order there were a few free accompaniments including pumpkin seeds (both sweet and salty), cabbage soup, a variety of different breads (these were particularly delicious), and some sweets at the end. We had the veal schnitzel and the pork neck as mains as well as strudel and kaiserschmarnn for dessert. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked, super tender and blended well with the lingonberry jam and potato salad. The pork neck was absolutely incredible, I can highly recommend. Super tender with a delicious Piri piri infused sauce that was perfect with the potato dumplings. I had this with the Trumer Pilsner which was lovely and our very friendly waiter brought me an extra little one on the house which was a very nice touch. As for desserts, both came with a sour cream ice cream which was a bit like a yogurt, and paired well. The strudel was nice and warm and pancakes had a great flavour and came on a bed of plums. If you like mushy textured fruit you’ll like these desserts a lot. Overall I had a lovely time at this restaurant and it was a fun visit! The menu tells the story of the restaurant and where they source all their produce locally. We were charged a fee for the piano player as well as a cover charge perhaps for the reservation so just be aware of that. I think this is definitely a worthy addition to your Vienna itinerary!
