Feel all the greatness of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in one day! From Vienna to Bratislava and Budapest. In one day you will be able to feel the atmosphere of three capitals of different countries: Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia. Can you imagine that it used to be one state? That's what our trip will be about! Vienna is the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the beginning of our journey, I will tell the story of Vienna and how the Empire was born. Bratislava is a cozy medieval city with a unique Slovak flavor. This city was the coronation place of the Hungarian Kingdom. We'll stop in the city center for coffee and a traditional Slovak dessert. Budapest is a majestic city with amazing buildings built during the heyday of the capital of Hungary. Once called the “Queen of the Danube,” Budapest consists of two parts, Buda and Pest. Our car-walking tour will affect both parts of this city. In Budapest, I will show a few Hungarian restaurants with local cuisine.

Wonderful surroundings, elegant interior and a genuinely smiling, attentive staff. You can tell the team enjoys working there. A special mention goes to the bread selection. It is worth the visit on its own. We ordered young bamboo which was exceptional and the Viennese wedding soup was a real wow moment. The catfish with sweetcorn was wonderfully fresh, followed by the Pogusch lamb. For the mains, the amur carp was excellent with perfectly balanced flavours, while the veal kidney was a slightly weaker combination for us, probably the least memorable dish of the lunch. For dessert we chose the poppy-seed noodles, a dish we both remember from our grandmothers. Of course grandma's version is still better, but we truly enjoyed it. One small downside: the whole lunch took quite a long time. We would have preferred a slightly quicker pace between the courses. We will be very happy to return!

Steirereck was one of the highlights of our trip to Vienna. For lunch, I chose the regular tasting menu while my wife had the vegetarian version, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It was impressive to see how much care and creativity went into both menus. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and showcased outstanding ingredients. The service was excellent throughout the meal - professional, friendly, and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. The famous bread selection and cheese trolley were experiences in themselves and absolutely worth trying. Steirereck fully deserves its reputation as one of the world's best restaurants. While it is certainly a splurge, the quality of the food, service, and overall experience made it feel completely worthwhile. A truly special dining experience that we would happily recommend to anyone visiting Vienna.

I had an amazing meal here. I ordered a la carte since I wanted bigger portions. I enjoyed every dish. The best were the fresh water fish including Alpine char and carp. The carp comes with this sweet and sour sauce that is divine. Service was great. The space was modern. Those yellow sinks in the bathrooms were fun.

This was truly an exceptional experience at a three-Michelin-star restaurant. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the creativity behind the menu brought us many delightful surprises throughout the evening. The service met the highest fine dining standards: professional, attentive, and perfectly timed without ever feeling intrusive. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, creating a sense of privacy that made the experience even more special. The restaurant is also conveniently located near the city center. I will certainly return.

Wow. What a 3.5 hrs of delight. My faith in the Michelin 3 stars rating has been restored (had a previous bad experience in Modena). Definitely should be rated much higher than the 4.4 Google reviews. The tasting menu with wine pairing was exquisite. Thank goodness we chose the 6 vs 7 courses. I really like the option of choosing each course. Funny note: I found out my wife and I had 100% opposite tastes. We should have skipped lunch as the 6 courses were more than enough with the bread samples and complimentary pre & post amuse-bouche. BTW, the service was excellent with my compliments to the teamwork.
