Feel all the greatness of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in one day! From Vienna to Bratislava and Budapest. In one day you will be able to feel the atmosphere of three capitals of different countries: Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia. Can you imagine that it used to be one state? That's what our trip will be about! Vienna is the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the beginning of our journey, I will tell the story of Vienna and how the Empire was born. Bratislava is a cozy medieval city with a unique Slovak flavor. This city was the coronation place of the Hungarian Kingdom. We'll stop in the city center for coffee and a traditional Slovak dessert. Budapest is a majestic city with amazing buildings built during the heyday of the capital of Hungary. Once called the “Queen of the Danube,” Budapest consists of two parts, Buda and Pest. Our car-walking tour will affect both parts of this city. In Budapest, I will show a few Hungarian restaurants with local cuisine.

I spent 5 days in Vienna and ate here twice. First time I sat outside, second time inside. The staff were extraordinarily friendly, the food was amazing. I enjoyed the food more than some of the more "elegant" dining establishments. The pork schnitzel was amazing and their potato salad was better than the other restaurants I tried.

Our first meal in Vienna was at Reinthaler’s Beisl. A random find while walking through the touristy streets around Stephansplatz. For a cool evening, the warm welcome from the staff and the cosy atmosphere felt just right. It turned out to be a lovely way to begin the trip and get introduced to what Vienna and Austria had to offer. We tried the Kohlrabicremesuppe, Geselchtes mit Linsen und Semmelknödel, Chicken Wiener Schnitzel, and coffee. As an introduction to Viennese food, it was a very enjoyable experience. The schnitzel had a beautifully thin and crispy coating, and the fresh salad helped cut through the richness nicely. The sauerkraut paired well with the pork, and the sauce added a pleasant richness and kept the meat moist. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the bread dumpling (Semmelknödel), though I suspect that may simply be something that grows on you over time and familiarity. Overall, it was a pleasant and comforting way to start our Vienna trip. Even at around 8:30 p.m., the place was lively, crowded, and full of energy, which added nicely to the experience.

I found this restaurant on Red Note, it’s a real local restaurant. I had a plate of fried onions with beef 🥩 steak. I love the sauce, fried onions with the sauce was so good not that much grassy taste. Washroom had some flying bugs, feels so bad. Waiter was friendly and helpful then I had local drink very nice. Meet a very old local lady, she was a very elegant. Love Vienna

Had two dinners here… potato and mushroom soup (insanely good!), wiener schnitzel (very generous portions) and beef goulash (very tasty) and not disappointed either time. Handy to the main historical centre but not too touristy. Food was good, service was pretty quick and everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners around me. Definitely worth stopping here.

It's a typical traditional Wien restaurant. Inside is nice and original; many people, and waiters are very fast, running around. Our waitress was very smiley and polite, and she brought everything we needed extremely quickly. The typical schnitzel was very good, as was the soup of the day, and the beef with noodles was great. They had ok dark beer and coffee to go with the apple strudel.
