Feel all the greatness of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in one day! From Vienna to Bratislava and Budapest. In one day you will be able to feel the atmosphere of three capitals of different countries: Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia. Can you imagine that it used to be one state? That's what our trip will be about! Vienna is the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the beginning of our journey, I will tell the story of Vienna and how the Empire was born. Bratislava is a cozy medieval city with a unique Slovak flavor. This city was the coronation place of the Hungarian Kingdom. We'll stop in the city center for coffee and a traditional Slovak dessert. Budapest is a majestic city with amazing buildings built during the heyday of the capital of Hungary. Once called the “Queen of the Danube,” Budapest consists of two parts, Buda and Pest. Our car-walking tour will affect both parts of this city. In Budapest, I will show a few Hungarian restaurants with local cuisine.

I chose this place for my first meal in Vienna since it was close to the hotel and also given fairly high ratings. I reserved a table but it was pretty vacant for lunch, so looks like I didn't need to. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the server and was promptly seated. Wasn't very hungry so decided to settle with just the main, I did want to try the soup but it wasn't available to my dismay. Now - The Wiener Schnitzel! This Blew me away! The cutlet was thin and crisp and the accompanying fries, salad and jam with slices of lemon made it a fantastic experience. So many different flavour profiles in one dish all working marvellously! Wished I could try some dessert, but given the humungous portions I was stuffed towards the end and couldn't take another bite. This is the only place that didn't charge extra for water or anything. Overall, one of the most satisfying experiences in Vienna.

I'm honestly a bit surprised at how good the reviews are about the food. I must agree that the service was friendly and the atmosphere is nice as they have a peaceful terrace at the back and a cute old-style decor inside. However, the food was pretty average. We had the Spatzle and the veal schnitzel, and although I much preferred the former to the latter, it wasn't good enough for me to give higher than a 3 star for the food. The veal was dry and the fries were quite ordinary. Maybe the issue was the dish I ate, not sure🤷🏻‍♀️ It was also over 40 euros each for very very simple food, but big portions I must say.

Wonderful restaurant with very delicious food. I arrived in Vienna late on a Sunday night and there were not many restaurants open. Found this one and was not disappointed. Helpful staff who spoke very good English, good choice of drinks and an authentic looking (multi-lingual) menu. All within a traditional atmosphere. Chose the schnitzel (of course), and was recommended the pork version. And it was huge!! Two massive schnitzels on top of chips (fries). Taste was great, it was not dry. Only problem... it was too much food!! Being a late Sunday night it wasn't particularly busy, but I am sure it is a popular choice at other times.
