Feel all the greatness of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in one day! From Vienna to Bratislava and Budapest. In one day you will be able to feel the atmosphere of three capitals of different countries: Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia. Can you imagine that it used to be one state? That's what our trip will be about! Vienna is the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the beginning of our journey, I will tell the story of Vienna and how the Empire was born. Bratislava is a cozy medieval city with a unique Slovak flavor. This city was the coronation place of the Hungarian Kingdom. We'll stop in the city center for coffee and a traditional Slovak dessert. Budapest is a majestic city with amazing buildings built during the heyday of the capital of Hungary. Once called the “Queen of the Danube,” Budapest consists of two parts, Buda and Pest. Our car-walking tour will affect both parts of this city. In Budapest, I will show a few Hungarian restaurants with local cuisine.

We couldn’t make a reservstion so we tried walk-in. We waited for about 20 minıutes to get seated. It was better than I expected. The line moved really fast. Service was fast and efficient and the staff was very kind. Potato salad was to die for. We had chicken and beef schnitzel. Bothe were delicious. Servings are really big.

I treated myself to three days in Vienna, and a friend recommended Figlmüller. I went without a reservation, but after a short wait in the queue, I was lucky enough to get a table. The food was outstanding, and the service was excellent. I was looked after by Bojan, who was absolutely amazing. He gave me fantastic recommendations on what to try, and they were so good that I ended up returning two days in a row just to taste everything he suggested. I tried the famous schnitzel, the traditional salad, as well as local wines and cocktails, and everything was delicious. Thank you, Bojan, for making my experience so memorable. I truly enjoyed my visits and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Vienna!

Fantastic experience at Figlmüller! The schnitzel was absolutely excellent, easily one of the tastiest I have ever had. The restaurant itself is really nice with a great atmosphere, but I highly recommend booking a table in advance, otherwise you will end up waiting in a long line. The rest of the food was also excellent, from the delicious soup to the amazing Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. It is an overall wonderful spot that I highly recommend, though just keep in mind it can get a bit too noisy at times depending on where you are seated.

Traditional Viennese atmosphere and cuisine. We ordered the Wiener Tafelspitz (boiled beef) and the famous Figlmüller Schnitzel (pork), along with a Figlmüller beer. The food was excellent, especially the Tafelspitz. The beef was sliced relatively thin, cooked until very tender, and had a rich, natural beef flavor. It was slightly salty for our taste, but still very enjoyable. The schnitzel lived up to its reputation—crispy, flavorful, and impressively large, extending well beyond the plate. The Figlmüller beer was refreshing and noticeably different from the beers we typically have in the U.S. The Erdäpfelsalat (potato salad) was also very good and paired perfectly with the schnitzel. Portion sizes were quite generous, and by the end of the meal we were so full that we didn't have room to try any dessert. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and can see why this restaurant is one of Vienna's most popular dining destinations. The restaurant gets quite busy, so we strongly recommend making a reservation in advance.

If you’re visiting Vienna and want to try a true classic, Figlmüller is one of those places that simply has to be on your list. Famous for serving one of the most iconic schnitzels in the city, it definitely lives up to its reputation when it comes to taste. The schnitzel is absolutely outstanding — perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of rich flavor that makes you understand why this place is so well-known worldwide. The portion size is also impressive, and it really feels like the kind of traditional Viennese meal you came to Austria for. It’s the type of dish that leaves you satisfied and happy, especially if you’re a fan of classic comfort food done properly. That being said, the experience isn’t flawless. The biggest downside is the service. Unfortunately, the staff can feel rushed and not very attentive, and at times it seems like they’re more focused on turning tables quickly than creating a warm dining experience. It doesn’t ruin the meal, but it definitely takes away from what could have been a perfect visit. One important tip: do not go without a reservation. This place gets extremely busy, and if you show up spontaneously, you may end up waiting a long time or not getting a table at all. Overall, Figlmüller is still a must-try in Vienna for its legendary schnitzel alone — just go prepared for a less-than-friendly service experience.
