Feel all the greatness of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in one day! From Vienna to Bratislava and Budapest. In one day you will be able to feel the atmosphere of three capitals of different countries: Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia. Can you imagine that it used to be one state? That's what our trip will be about! Vienna is the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the beginning of our journey, I will tell the story of Vienna and how the Empire was born. Bratislava is a cozy medieval city with a unique Slovak flavor. This city was the coronation place of the Hungarian Kingdom. We'll stop in the city center for coffee and a traditional Slovak dessert. Budapest is a majestic city with amazing buildings built during the heyday of the capital of Hungary. Once called the “Queen of the Danube,” Budapest consists of two parts, Buda and Pest. Our car-walking tour will affect both parts of this city. In Budapest, I will show a few Hungarian restaurants with local cuisine.

Phenomenal Apple shtreudel in an old-school, classic setting. The waiters wear suits and the decor feels historic, no frills, just a great experience. Would definitely recommend coming here for a Viennese experience!

I came to this cafe twice during my trip- for breakfast and for a casual dessert. I tried their Austrian crepes, apfelstrüdel and coffee melange. The interior was very authentic, staff was so kind, food was delicious, fresh and served warm, service was fast. I think the coffee melange here could be the best around the city. Both times I didn't have a reservation but found a nice spot anyway. It's worth a visit if you're in town, for the food, the hospitality and the experience itself.

A charming rustic café with plenty of old-world character and a nostalgic Viennese atmosphere. The vintage furnishings and cozy surroundings make it feel like stepping back in time. We stopped by for coffee and enjoyed the experience. The café’s unique ambience is its biggest attraction, offering a relaxing place to sit and soak in the history and charm of Vienna. If you’re looking for a traditional Viennese café experience with a warm, rustic feel, Café Hawelka is worth a visit. ☕️ Unfortunately we were kinda “forced” to give tips. Café Hawelka ★★★

Visited Café Leopold Hawelka and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I ordered a black coffee, a latte, and an iced coffee, and all three were well prepared. What stood out most was that the coffee was smooth and flavourful without the acidic taste that is common in many cafés today. The atmosphere was authentic and charming, with a classic Viennese café character that adds to the overall experience. A special mention to the waiter, who was humorous, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable about the coffee and the café itself. His recommendations and engaging personality added to the experience and made us feel very welcome. If you appreciate well-made coffee that is balanced, rich, and easy to drink, along with excellent service, Café Hawelka is definitely worth a visit.

The coffee here is rather average, nothing extraordinary. We wanted to try their famous “buchteln”, but they serve this sweet pastry only after 8pm. The service is quite arrogant. They should change their mindset, because except the athmosphere, you are not getting anything so special.
